The Responsibility Assignment Matrix or RAM explains how people and organisations complete tasks or projects. This deals with complex business processes, and your basic pay for assignment is not enough to help you with this. A business organisation undergoes several operations and projects to deliver a product or a service to the customers. In each project task, each deliverable needs individual supervision. None can skip the importance of any task. Since one person is responsible and accountable to oversee every department, he must adopt some way to tackle that pressure.

To develop an effective Responsibility Assignment matrix, you need to make a detailed list of all the tasks and deliverables of the company. This list will guide you through the entire process. You can go back to the list every time to see if you have missed anything. Creating a list thus helps you to oversee every task without the fear of missing anything.

  1. Identify the project stakeholders

After making a list, the next step is identifying all the project stakeholders. Knowing all the personnel responsible for the smooth operation is essential for the supervisor.

Once you identify the stakeholders, the next stage is to know who is responsible for what purpose. You need to determine the responsibility, accountability for each shareholder.
